The Energetica coastal path runs from Aberdeen City to Peterhead and links a number of traditional villages and interesting environments.
The highlights of the coastal path include:
Balmedie Beach – the country park is the centre for exploring unspoilt beaches and the natural dune system.
Forvie Nature Reserve – This part of the coastal path has an abundance of wildlife and the careful protection within the reserve allows a variety of birds to be studied close up. The Forvie Centre provides a visitor centre and education point.
Collieston to Whinnyfold – This provides a true wilderness experience, and the chance to get away from it all. There is wildlife both on land and sealife to discover. This part of the path is natural and only suitable for avid explorers.
Cruden Bay to Longhaven – This route presents both interesting history, with the dramatic Slains Castle and the natural wonder of the Bullers of Buchan. Part of this route has been upgraded to allowing all-abilities access to the coastal environment.
Boddam to Peterhead – The industrial heritage of the Peterhead area can be explored along with the dramatic sea cliff environment.
