Peterhead Port

peterhead port

Peterhead is one of the UK’s most versatile ports...

The Port provides exceptional all-weather, congestion-free deepwater berthing facilities at depths of up to 14m and serving a broad range of industries including oil & gas, renewables, fishing and leisure.

The Port has a proud heritage as the UK’s largest white fish and pelagic (mackerel and herring) port, and has also played a vital role in the development of North Sea oil and gas over the last 35 years.

The latest development, Smith Quay, adds an easily-accessed berth with a 10m water depth and can accommodate vessels up to 180m in length. Smith Quay has a working area of 16,000 square metres, including heavy lift and module skidding capabilities, and full quayside servicing.

Peterhead Port is now looking ahead to its next chapter with a £49 million investment to ensure the harbour remains at the forefront of the fishing industry for the remainder of the 21st century. The plans will see the harbour developed into a fully integrated, state-of-the art fishing hub by the end of 2017.

The project also provides an additional 185 metre long berth for commercial vessels.
