The world class learning environment in Aberdeen City and Shire is fundamental to Energetica.

It all combines to create a comprehensive educational and development infrastructure that produces a skilled, reliable and relevant workforce ready to meet the requirements of companies investing in the area.

Some Facts and Figures:

• Between the two local authority areas of Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire there is a total population of 457,300 – of which 255,300 are economically active.

• The region has a highly qualified workforce: 41.1% of Aberdeen City residents aged 16-64 are educated to NVQ4 level and above (HND, Degree and Higher Degree level qualifications or equivalent), with a 33.8% average in Aberdeenshire. This compares to a 29.9% average in the UK.

• The 600-year-old University of Aberdeen is ranked among the world’s top 150 universities

• The Robert Gordon University was recently listed as the best modern university in the UK and rated number one in Scotland for graduate employment.

•Banff and Buchan College offers a range of courses in the areas of technology and renewable industries, business and service industries. The Nautical department also offers specialist nautical and marine training as well as mechanical, electrical, instrumentation control systems, health and safety, hydraulics and fabrication and welding courses.
