Within the Energetica corridor, there are numerous options for getting around, whether by car or without one.
The corridor focusses around the A90 trunk road, which links Peterhead to Aberdeen at Bridge of Don. The A952 provides a link to Fraserburgh and A975 coastal route links Cruden Bay and Newburgh-on-Ythan. The A948 links Ellon with New Deer and the B977 provides a connection between Balmedie and Dyce.
Regular bus services in the area provide frequent public transport links, both into Aberdeen and between the main settlements in the area. Stagecoach Bluebird provide the majority of services with a number of local services supported by Aberdeenshire Council. Information on all bus services in the area can be found on www.travelinescotland.com
There are also Community transport options for anyone who finds conventional transport difficult. Buchan Dial-a-community bus or Aberdeenshire’s A2B services provide demand responsive transport options.
The Energetica Corridor also has excellent opportunities for cycling and walking, notably along the Formartine & Buchan Way, which forms part of the National Cycle Network Route 1, and also in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire’s Cycling Demonstration Town. Long distance and local walking routes are also available along the coast, in and around Ellon and in other parts of the area.
For those who need the flexibility of the car, but don’t always have one available, car share provides an alternative solution. Individuals or companies can register regular or single journeys here or request further information.
